Job summary

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge in all facets of ship repair.
• Working knowledge of contracting and estimating procedures.
• Demonstrated knowledge and utilization of production processes, methods, quality, and technology.
• Effective leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• Proven ability in people environment.
• Capable in Microsoft products.

Responsibilities

• On-site deck-plate leader for the trade, supervising a team of 8–30 mechanics.
• Plan manpower requirements to support Production/Program Management.
• Develop daily work assignments and expectations for production workforce.
• Review and document employee performance.
• Ensure compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Walk each job to assess prep needs for safe, efficient execution.
• Assign mechanics to optimize skills and performance.
• Supervise personnel with necessary tools, specs, drawings, procedures.
• Attend daily production meetings and coordinate with other shops.
