Job summary

Indiana University Health seeks a Physician Onboarding Specialist to manage the full HR onboarding lifecycle for providers in two Indiana Regions. You will coordinate across HR, legal, finance and operations to ensure all details are complete before the provider’s first day, guiding them through orientation and early weeks with a high-touch, concierge approach.

You’ll build relationships with providers, leaders and cross-functional teams, planning ahead for busy seasons and ensuring patient care

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience required.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in healthcare HR/onboarding or similar.
• Experience with large data management systems.
• Experience in a highly matrixed and complex organizational environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint.
• Strong understanding of provider onboarding, compliance, and HR operations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary onboarding contact from offer acceptance through first weeks of employment.
• Coordinate welcome outreach, I-9 processing, background checks, licensure, payer enrollment, and deposits.
• Support medical staff privileges, credentialing, and insurance processes.
• Run day-long orientations and build providers' two-week schedules with key introductions.
• Be the go-to resource for process status and timelines pre-start.
• Monitor timelines to ensure onboarding steps are completed before start date.
