CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgeon to launch a new surgical service line at CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic in San Antonio. This role involves building a CV/Thoracic Surgery program, performing diverse procedures, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System has been a cornerstone of compassionate, faith-based care in South Texas since 1869. As the only Catholic, nonprofit health system in San Antonio, CHRISTUS Santa Rosa includes six full-service hospitals and numerous specialty centers, with more than 1,100 licensed beds. CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital ? Westover Hills, located in one of the fastest-growing areas of San Antonio, is undergoing a major $300 million expansion. This includes a new patient tower with state-of-the-art cardiovascular operating rooms, a hybrid OR suite, and a dedicated CVICU?solidifying Westover Hills as the region?s newest hub for advanced cardiac and surgical care.
CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic (CTC), the employed medical group for CHRISTUS Health, is one of the largest multispecialty groups in South Texas, with more than 1,000 physicians and advanced practice providers across over 130 locations. CTC supports a robust cardiac care team in San Antonio, which currently includes 4 interventional cardiologists, 1 general cardiologist, 1 electrophysiologist, and a dedicated support staff.
We are now recruiting the first Cardiovascular/Thoracic Surgeon to join CTC in San Antonio?marking the launch of our new surgical service line.
Responsibilities:
Build and lead the new CV/Thoracic Surgery program for CTC
Perform a full spectrum of cardiac and thoracic procedures
Collaborate with a high-performing, multidisciplinary heart team
Participate in outpatient consultations and comprehensive perioperative care
Help shape quality standards and clinical growth strategies
Qualifications:
Board certified or eligible in Thoracic Surgery
Completion of an ACGME-accredited cardiothoracic surgery fellowship
Texas medical license or eligibility
Demonstrated leadership and team-based care experience
