Job Title: Open-Rank Academic Cardiac Trained CT Surgeon
The Department of Surgery at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine, is seeking an open-rank academic cardiac trained CT Surgeon to join the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization, with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. For Associate/Full Professor, typically will have produced creative work, professional writing, or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be recognized as an authority in the field.
- Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent. The candidate will need to obtain and maintain a full un-restricted FL Medical License, credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the assigned hospitals.
- Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified (or eligible for certification) by the American Board of Surgery or American Osteopathic Board of Surgery in Surgery, with Added Qualifications in CT Surgery. Demonstrated proficiency in CT Surgery.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching healthcare professional students, residents, and practicing clinicians.

Responsibilities:
- Teaching Duties: Complete program requirements of ACGME institutional and residency/fellowship programs; direct supervision of residents.
- Clinical Duties: Responsible for all aspects of the CT Program, including call panel privileges, treatment protocols, service policies, education, community outreach, hospital interface, and performance improvement; promote a multidisciplinary approach to care.
- Essential Functions: Responsible to a Chair or appropriate administrator for teaching, research, service, and administrative activities; academic advising; and representation on university or statewide committees.
