Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, CA is seeking a Physician Assistant I to provide high quality, team-based patient care across office, hospital, ED and perioperative settings. The PA may first assist in OR, order tests, administer therapies, and help manage patient care with supervising physicians.

Evening/weekend coverage may be required depending on department needs. Qualifications include CA PA license, BLS, NPI, and ARC-PA accredited PA program completion.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program by start date.
• Physician Assistant License (California) required at hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• National Provider Identifier (NPI) required at hire
• Physician Assistant National Certificate required at hire
• Fluoroscopy Permit required, or must be obtained within 18 months from date of hire in Orthopedics, Interventional Radiology, and Radiation Oncology

Responsibilities

• Examiness patients, performs comprehensive physical examinations and compiles medical data.
• Administers or orders diagnostic tests and interprets results.
• Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, suturing, wound care, and infection management.
• Develops and implements patient management plans and records progress notes.
• Instructs patients regarding compliance with therapies and health maintenance.
• First assist in surgeries or perform procedures as applicable.
• Assist in inpatient rounds and postoperative care, including orders and discharge summaries.
