Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years previous experience as a physician assistant within the last five (5) years.
• Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program.
• Physician Assistant License (California) required at hire.
• National Provider Identifier required at hire.
• Basic Life Support required at hire.
• Physician Assistant National Certificate required at hire.
• Fluoroscopy Permit required, or must be obtained within 18 months from hire in Orthopedics/Interventional Radiology/Radiation Oncology.
• May be required to have experience and competency in tasks specific to the department.
• Must work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Responsabilités

• Practice as part of a team under the direction of a supervising physician.
• Perform comprehensive patient examinations and compile health history and findings.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging.
• Provide therapeutic procedures (injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care) and manage infections.
• Develop and implement patient management plans and document progress notes.
• Educate patients and families on treatment regimens, growth, and health maintenance.
• First assist in surgeries or perform department-specific procedures as applicable.
• Round on inpatients and manage peri-operative orders and care.
• Discharge planning and timely documentation of discharge summaries.
• Mentor less experienced Physician Assistants and participate in performance improvement.
