Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years previous experience as a physician assistant in the last five (5) years.
• Graduate from an ARC-PA accredited physician assistant program.
• Physician Assistant License (California) required at hire.
• National Provider Identifier required at hire.
• Basic Life Support
• Physician Assistant National Certificate required at hire.
• Fluoroscopy Permit required, or must be obtained within 18 months from date of hire in Orthopedics/Interventional Radiology/Radiation Oncology.

Responsibilities

• Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles medical data including health history and results.
• Administers or orders diagnostic tests and interprets test results for deviations from normal.
• Performs injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and manages infection.
• Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in continuity of care.
• Instructs and counsels patients regarding adherence to prescribed therapies and health maintenance.
• May first assist in surgeries and perform procedures as applicable; rounds on inpatients; supports peri-operative care.
• Mentors less experienced PAs and participates in performance improvement activities.
