Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate from ARC-PA accredited PA program.
• California Physician Assistant license required at hire.
• National Provider Identifier required at hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at hire.
• Physician Assistant National Certification required at hire.

Responsibilities

• The Physician Assistant will practice as part of a team under the direction of their supervising physician.
• Examine patient and compile medical data including health history and physical examination results.
• Administers or orders diagnostic tests and interprets results for deviations from normal.
• Performs therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care.
• Develops and implements patient management plans and assists in continuity of care.
• Instructs patients on compliance with prescribed regimens and health maintenance.
• May assist in surgeries as First Assist or perform department-specific procedures.
• Provides post-operative orders and assists physicians during recovery and status evaluations.
• Facilitates patient discharge and coordinates admissions/transfers as needed.
• May mentor less experienced Physician Assistants and collaborate on performance improvement.
