Job summary

Southern Ohio Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join as-needed (PRN). Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, you will support patient mobility, implement treatment plans, monitor responses, and document progress while educating families.

The role emphasizes discharge planning and adaptive equipment guidance. Eligible candidates hold an Associate's degree, PTA licensure in the state, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; graduation from PTA program.
• PTA licensure in the state.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services under supervision to develop, recover, and maintain mobility and function.
• Implement treatment plans using appropriate modalities.
• Monitor patient responses and communicate progress to the supervising therapist.
• Document services and patient progress; educate patient and caregiver.
• Assist with discharge planning and selection/use of adaptive equipment.

How You'll Contribute

• Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, physical therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain physical mobility/function.
• Implement treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities.
• Seeks consultation as necessary.
• Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan.
• Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
• Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
• Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
• Assists with patient discharge planning. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.
