Job summary

Southern Ohio Medical Center is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (LPTA) for a full-time day shift. Under supervision of a Physical Therapist, you will provide therapeutic interventions to help patients regain mobility and function.

You will implement treatment plans, monitor progress, document responses, and educate patients and families about care plans. The role emphasizes discharge planning support and use of adaptive equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required for PTA licensure.
• State license/registration as Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist a licensed physical therapist in evaluating and treating patients.
• Implement treatment plans using appropriate modalities and monitor responses.
• Document patient progress and communicate outcomes to the supervising therapist.
• Educate patients and families about deficits and home programs.
• Support discharge planning and use of adaptive equipment when needed.

How you'll contribute

• Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, physical therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain physical mobility/function.
• Implement treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities.
• Seeks consultation as necessary.
• Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan.
• Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
• Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
• Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
• Assists with patient discharge planning. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.
