Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have an Associate’s degree from a PTA program.
• Current California PTA license.
• CPR and First Aid certification on file.
• Valid California driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Ability to travel to multiple work sites and participants’ residences.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing a plan of care to maximize independence while ensuring safety.
• Treat participants to relieve pain and restore function using exercises, manual therapy, gait training, and modalities.
• Report progress and changes in participant status to the Physical Therapist.
• Instruct participants and caregivers on care and use of mobility aids and assistive devices.
• Order and deliver items such as minor DME and travel between centers.
• Assist with and/or run groups as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Provide in-service training to other health team members.
• Document thoroughly and timely per PT standards and CEI policy.
• Maintain a clean, orderly department and ensure equipment is in good working condition.
• Maintain confidentiality of participant information.
• Adhere to safety policies and standard precautions.
• Display courteous, professional behavior and respond to all customer groups.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
