Job summary

Center for Elders Independence in California is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to support physical therapy programs under supervision. You will assist in planning and scheduling rehab services and participate as part of the multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities include implementing plans of care, instructing participants and caregivers, and ensuring accurate documentation. Travel to multiple sites may be required, with an hourly pay range noted.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from a PTA program approved by CAPTE.
• Currently licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant by the Physical Therapy Board of California.
• Preferred 1 year experience with frail elderly population.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification on file.
• Valid California driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Ability to travel to multiple work sites and participants' residences.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physical therapist in carrying out a plan of care to maximize independence and safety.
• Treat participants to relieve pain and restore function using prescribed methods.
• Report progress and changes to the Physical Therapist.
• Instruct participants and caregivers in use of mobility aids and adaptive equipment.
• Order and deliver items such as minor DME to residences or between centers.
• Assist with and/or run groups as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Provide in-service training to health team members.
• Document thoroughly and timely according to standards and CEI policy.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly department and equipment.
• Maintain confidentiality of participant information.
