Job summary

Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is seeking a Physical Therapist Aide for part-time hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays (12pm-6pm) at our Huntington Station, NY facility. You will support therapists by scribing, preparing treatment materials, and assisting patients with exercises in a dynamic, patient-centered environment.

The role involves handling equipment, basic maintenance, front desk duties, and ensuring a clean, safe therapy space.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of Anatomy and Kinesiology.
• Familiarity with therapy equipment used in physical therapy.
• Ability to assess and respond to patient needs and safety.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a scribe for recording and editing therapeutic exercises under supervision of a PT/OT.
• Prepare heat and ice packs; assist patients to pool; guide patients to exercise equipment and monitor motion.
• Ensure operation of treatment equipment; perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot issues.
• Educate patients on proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
• Prepare the treatment room and assist with scheduling and front desk duties as needed.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and a clean, safe working environment.
• Manage therapy supplies inventory and assist with procurement.
• Answer calls from physician offices, hospitals, and patients with professional service.
