Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is seeking a Physical Therapist Aide to join our collaborative team in Town of Smithtown, NY. The role supports therapists, prepares materials, assists with exercises, and helps keep treatment areas safe and organized.

Shifts cover Mondays and Thursdays 9am-5pm, Tuesdays 10am-4pm, and Wednesdays and Fridays 9am-3pm. We value patient care, teamwork, and a proactive approach to learning in a state-of-the-art facility.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Anatomy & Kinesiology.
• Knowledge of the equipment used in therapy work.
• Ability to observe, evaluate, and record conditions in patients.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a scribe for recording and editing therapeutic exercises under the supervision of a Doctor of Physical Therapy and/or Occupational Therapy.
• Help treat patients by preparing heat and ice packs; paraffin dips; assisting patients to the pool; guiding patients to exercise equipment, monitoring motion; tracking patient exertion.
• Ensure operation of treatment equipment by completing preventive maintenance; troubleshoot malfunctions; call for repairs.
• Educate patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.
• Prepare patients for therapy treatment by welcoming, comforting, and assisting into sessions.
• Provide front desk coverage and assist with scheduling.
