Job summary

Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is seeking a Physical Therapist Aide to support clinicians in a dynamic, patient-centered setting. The role involves assisting with therapeutic exercises, preparing materials and rooms, and coordinating front desk duties to ensure smooth patient flow.

You will work under supervision to record therapy activities, manage equipment, educate patients, and maintain safety and confidentiality in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Transportation to shifts including your commute from home
• Knowledge of Anatomy & Kinesiology
• Knowledge of the equipment used in therapy work
• Knowledge of patient behavior and needs
• Knowledge of strengthening techniques
• Knowledge of restraints and behavior management practices
• Ability to successfully complete in-service training
• Ability to observe, evaluate, and record changes in patients
• Ability to maintain appropriate attitude and conduct for patient welfare
• Ability to create and maintain records and write brief reports
• Ability to communicate effectively

Responsibilities

• Serve as a scribe for recording and editing therapeutic exercises under supervision of a PT/OT
• Prepare heat/cold packs; paraffin dips; assist patients to pool; guide exercise equipment; monitor exertion; lead prescribed exercises
• Ensure operation of treatment equipment via preventive maintenance and troubleshooting
• Educate patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and routines
• Prepare treatment room and assist patients into therapy sessions
• Provide information to patients; answer questions and address concerns
• Maintain patient confidentiality and protect operations
• Keep a safe, clean working environment complying with procedures and regulations
• Prepare equipment and supplies; sterilize and deliver to treatment area; position equipment
• Answer calls from physicians/hospitals/patients with exemplary service
• Maintain inventory of supplies and place orders as needed
• Provide front desk coverage and scheduling assistance as needed
• Perform other front desk duties and assignments
