Job summary

Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy has immediate openings for Physical Therapist Aides in a busy clinical setting. You will support therapists, assist patients with exercises, and help manage front desk tasks while delivering compassionate care.

The role requires knowledge of anatomy, therapy equipment, and patient needs, with attention to safety and confidentiality. Flexible schedule available, with shifts across weekdays.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Anatomy & Kinesiology.
• Knowledge of the equipment used in therapy work.
• Knowledge of the behavior and needs of patients.
• Knowledge of proper strengthening techniques.
• Knowledge of the use of restraints and aggressive behavior management practices.
• Ability to successfully complete in-service training.
• Ability to observe, evaluate, and record conditions, reactions, and changes in patients' physical condition.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a scribe for recording and editing therapeutic exercises under supervision.
• Help treat patients by preparing heat and ice packs; paraffin dips; assisting patients to the pool; guiding patients to exercise equipment; monitoring motion; guiding prescribed exercises.
• Ensure operation of treatment equipment by performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Educate patients by demonstrating proper equipment use and exercise routines.
• Prepare patients for therapy by welcoming and assisting them into sessions.
• Provide information to patients by answering questions and requests; reassure them.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and protect operations.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
• Provide equipment and supplies by sterilizing and delivering items; positioning equipment.
• Prepare the treatment room for patients by following procedures.
• Answer calls from physician offices, hospitals, and patients with good customer service.
• Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock and placing orders.
• Provide front desk coverage as needed, including scheduling assistance.
• Performs other front desk duties and assignments as required.
