Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) per IDFPR requirements.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days.
• Continuing education in acute stroke care as required.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient transfers with safe body mechanics.
• Educates patients, families, and caregivers using effective teaching methods.
• Evaluates clinical findings to determine PT diagnoses and outcomes.
• Performs examinations with reliable methods relevant to chief complaint and history.
• Documents in EMR per policy.
• Screens patients to determine need for therapy services; adjust care as needed.
• Uses support personnel per legal/ethical guidelines and provides feedback.
• Completes therapy modalities such as ultrasound, interferential, and iontophoresis.
• Communicates progress and treatment recommendations with referring providers.
• Evaluates orthopedic and neurologic impairments and plans care accordingly.
