Job summary

North Texas Therapy & Home Care in Texas seeks a licensed physical therapist to provide pediatric home health services to patients ages 0–21, inside homes and daytime facilities, 2+ visits weekly.

You will define impairments, plan therapy, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Spanish is a plus; valid driver’s license and auto insurance are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in physical therapy from an accredited program.
• License to practice physical therapy in Texas.
• Pediatrics experience required (New grads must have a minimum of 6 weeks pediatric OT experience - can include internship).
• Home health experience preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
• Must carry valid auto insurance and driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy services in the home or daytime facility for patients 0–21 years old, 2+ times per week, per physician orders.
• Define degree and type of physical and gross motor impairment using appropriate tests.
• Interpret diagnostic data and prepare written reports.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to plan goals and educate the team in PT modalities.
• Plan and modify care to meet therapy goals.
• Educate staff, caregivers, and patients through training materials and in-services.
• May supervise Certified Physical Therapy Assistants.

• Define the patients degree and type of physical and gross motor impairment(s) by selecting and administering the most appropriate testing instruments
• Interpret diagnostic data and prepare written diagnostic reports
• In collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, plan and evaluate team goals for each patient as well as advise, consult, and instruct the team in specific physical therapy modalities and interventions
• Plan for and modify care to meet goals of physical therapy interventions
• Educate staff, caregivers, and patients by designing and delivering training, printed material/resources and in-service programs in accordance with the total physical therapy program
• May provide supervision to Certified Physical Therapy Assistants
