Job summary

North Texas Therapy & Home Care in Forney, TX is seeking a licensed physical therapist to provide pediatric home health services (ages 0-21) up to 2+ visits per week. You will assess motor impairments, apply appropriate tests, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to tailor treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree from an accredited program in physical therapy.
• Licensed to practice physical therapy in Texas.
• Experience in pediatrics required; new grads need 6 weeks of pediatric OT experience (internship acceptable).
• Home health experience preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Must carry valid auto insurance and a driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy services in patients' homes or daytime facilities for ages 0–21, 2+ times per week, per physician orders.
• Define degree and type of impairment using appropriate testing instruments.
• Interpret diagnostic data and prepare written reports.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to plan goals and advise on PT modalities.
• Plan and modify care to meet goals of interventions.
• Educate staff, caregivers and patients through training and materials.
• May supervise Certified Physical Therapy Assistants.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Define the patients degree and type of physical and gross motor impairment(s) by selecting and administering the most appropriate testing instruments
• Interpret diagnostic data and prepare written diagnostic reports
• In collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team, plan and evaluate team goals for each patient as well as advise, consult, and instruct the team in specific physical therapy modalities and interventions
• Plan for and modify care to meet goals of physical therapy interventions
• Educate staff, caregivers, and patients by designing and delivering training, printed material/resources and in-service programs in accordance with the total physical therapy program
• May provide supervision to Certified Physical Therapy Assistants
