Job summary

Lifepoint Rehabilitation is seeking a Physical Therapist to join the Southern Ohio Medical Center team in Ohio. You will supervise assistants, assess patients, and develop care plans to restore function and relieve pain, delivering individualized physical therapy services.

Qualified candidates hold a Doctor of Physical Therapy, Ohio licensure, and BLS within 30 days of hire. This is a full-time, day-shift opportunity with a focus on patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program required.
• Current Physical Therapist license in Ohio required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervises physical therapy assistants and aids in treatment.
• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient condition.
• Develops a plan of care aligned with patient goals and capabilities.
• Designs and executes individualized programs to restore function and reduce pain.
• Implements therapy interventions and uses standard PT techniques as applicable.

How you'll contribute

A Physical Therapist who excels in this role:

• Supervises physical therapy assistants and aids in performing treatment.
• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires.
• Plans, prepares and carries out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
• Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.
• Administers treatment involving application of physical agents, using equipment, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program and a Physical Therapist license in the state of Ohio. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) obtain within 30 days of hire
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
