University Hospitals Avon Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist (PT) to join our inpatient team. You will perform patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and supervise PT assistants and students to ensure high-quality therapy services.

The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, clinical excellence, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team in an outpatient/inpatient rehabilitation setting.

Qualifications

• Ohio Physical Therapist license required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Establishes a plan of care aligned with identified problems and patient goals.
• Plans, prepares and carries out individually designed physical therapy programs to maintain or restore function and relieve pain.
• Performs therapy interventions using standard PT techniques for patient age and condition.
• Directs and supervises PT assistants, students and support staff; assesses competence and delegates tasks.

How you'll contribute

A Physical Therapist who excels in this role:

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition.
• Establishes a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires.
• Plans, prepares and carries out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
• Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the age and condition of the patient.
• Directs and supervises physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel. Assesses competence, delegates specific tasks, and establishes channels of communication.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a Physical Therapist license in the state of Ohio. Additional requirements include:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
• Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of hire
