Job summary

Southern Ohio Medical Center is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a PRN role to support patient mobility and rehabilitation goals. You will work under a Physical Therapist to provide skilled PT services in a hospital setting.

As part of our rehab team, you will implement treatment plans, document progress, educate patients and families, and assist with discharge planning and adaptive equipment. BLS certification is required, and an associate degree is needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree required; graduate of a program in discipline.
  • Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant in the state.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS).

Responsibilities

  • Under supervision of a Physical Therapist, provide PT services to help patients develop, recover and maintain mobility/function.
  • Implement treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using modalities.
  • Seeks consultation as necessary.
  • Monitors patient responses to the treatment plan.
  • Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
  • Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
  • Educates the patient and family about deficits.
  • Assists with discharge planning and use of adaptive equipment and community resources.

How you\'ll contribute


  • Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, physical therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain physical mobility/function.

  • Implement treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities.

  • Seeks consultation as necessary.

  • Monitors patient\'s responses to the treatment plan.

  • Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.

  • Documents services provided and patient response/progress.

  • Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.

  • Assists with patient discharge planning. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.
