Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking a part-time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for Southern Ohio Medical Center in Ohio. You will work daytime shifts under a Physical Therapist, delivering plan-based therapy to improve mobility and function.

You'll implement treatments, monitor responses, document progress, and assist with discharge planning while supporting patient education for home equipment and community resources.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in PTA required.
• Licensed as PTA in the state.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services under supervision to develop, recover, and maintain mobility.
• Implement treatment plans created by supervising PT using appropriate modalities.
• Monitor patient responses and adjust care as needed.
• Document services and patient progress accurately.
• Educate patient and family about deficits and equipment options.
• Assist with discharge planning and community referrals.

How You’ll Contribute

• Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, physical therapy services to patients needing to develop, recover and maintain physical mobility/function.
• Implement treatment plan developed by supervising therapist using appropriate modalities.
• Seeks consultation as necessary.
• Monitors patient's responses to the treatment plan.
• Regularly communicates patient progress and possible goal revisions to the physical therapist.
• Documents services provided and patient response/progress.
• Educates the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
• Assists with patient discharge planning. Provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and community support programs.
