Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO seeks a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist for PRN, rotating shifts. The role involves objective assessments and developing individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. You will supervise patients and rehab staff in line with Mercy standards.

Education must include a degree in Physical Therapy (Bachelor, MS or DPT) and a current licensure in the practicing state. BLS certification is required and current.

Qualifications

• Current/Temporary license to practice Physical Therapy in state of practice.
• BLS certification required and current.
• Six months to one year rehabilitation Physical Therapist experience preferred for adult and geriatric care.
• Position requires ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs, prolonged standing and walking, and various movements such as grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Provide direct supervision to patients and indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians; general supervision of PT assistants as per State Practice Acts.
• Ensure all duties align with Mercy mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Position Details:

Mercy Hospital Southeast (Cape Girardeau, MO) Shift: PRN, Varies/Rotating

• Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

• Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.

• Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.

• Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.

• Physical Requirements: Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
