Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO, is seeking a Physical Therapist for full-time, 40 hours per week. The role includes assessing patients and designing individualized treatment plans for adults and geriatrics, with supervision duties for rehab staff.

Qualifications include a degree in Physical Therapy, current licensure, BLS certification, and 6–12 months of rehab PT experience. A generous $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered to qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required and current before independent patient care.
• Six months to one year Rehab PT experience preferred.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
• Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
• Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.
• Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist.
• Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.
• Physical Requirements: Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
