Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a part-time Rehabilitation Physical Therapist (24 hours/week). The role involves providing objective assessments and implementing comprehensive treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients under supervision, including supervision of rehabilitation staff.

Qualifications include a PTA/PT degree (DPT preferred), current MOPT license, BLS certification, and 6–12 months of rehab experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
• Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
• BLS certification; current before independent patient care.
• Six months to one year Rehabilitation Physical Therapist experience preferred.
• Prefer experience with adult and geriatric patients.
• Position requires ability to push/pull 50 lbs and prolonged standing/walking.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Direct supervision to patients and indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians.
• General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts.
• Work under supervision of Therapy Leadership and adhere to Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

• Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
• Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
• Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.
• Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.
• Physical Requirements: Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
