Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO, is seeking a rehabilitative Physical Therapist to provide objective assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for adult and geriatric patients. You will supervise patients and rehabilitation technicians, while coordinating with PT assistants in line with state practice acts.

The role requires a PT degree and current licensure, BLS certification, and 6 months to 1 year of rehab experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
• Current/Temporary license to practice Physical Therapy in state of practice.
• BLS certification must be current.
• Six months to one year rehabilitation experience preferred for adult/geriatric care.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift 50 lbs; prolonged standing and walking.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Direct supervision of patients and supervision of rehabilitation technicians; oversee PT assistants.
• Adhere to Mercy policies, standards of treatment, and Mercy Service Standards.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
• Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
• Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.
• Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.
• Physical Requirements: Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
