Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist under Therapy Leadership to provide objective assessments and develop comprehensive treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. You will supervise patients and oversee rehabilitation technicians, and coordinate with PT assistants in line with state practice acts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy is required.
• Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in the state of practice.
• BLS certification; certifications must be current before caring for patients independently.
• Six months to one year experience preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist; experience with adult and geriatric patients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Direct supervision to patients and indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians; supervision of PT assistants per State Practice Acts.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

Mercy Hospital Southeast (Cape Girardeau, MO)

Shift: Full-Time, 40 hours a week

$10,000 Sign-on Bonus

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
• Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
• Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.
• Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.
• Physical Requirements: Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
