Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO seeks a Rehabilitation Physical Therapist (PRN, rotating) to perform objective assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for adult and geriatric patients. You will supervise patients, rehab technicians, and PT assistants in line with Mercy standards.

Applicants should have a PT degree (BPT/MPT/PhD), current Missouri PT license, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.
• Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
• BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.
• Six months to one year experience preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist; adult/geriatric care experience desired.
• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs; prolonged standing and walking; bend, reach, kneel, twist, and squat.

Responsibilities

• Performs objective assessments and comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.
• Direct supervision to patients and indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians.
• General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts.

Shift: PRN, Varies/Rotating

• Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

• Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.

• Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.

• Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.

• Physical Requirements: Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
