Job description

The Physical Therapist (PT) writes goals and objectives for the treatment plan in coordination with the child’s clinical team. The PT instructs home-based workers on proper implementation of treatment interventions. The PT will observe Behavior Technicians treating the child on a monthly basis. The PT will communicate, consult and work closely with parents/guardians, other team members, external agencies, and other professionals on therapy programs, goals, progress, adaptive equipment, etc.

Broad Areas of Responsibility:

Participating in agency activities, communicating the agency’s values and principles to others; providing training and mentoring to new and existing employees; guiding the work of Behavior Technicians, parents/guardians, and other members of the team; and monitoring progress; recognizing and valuing the skills and input of employees; implementing best practice measures in relation to all clinical responsibilities.

Minimal Qualifications:
  • Current RI Physical Therapist license and experience working with children with special health care needs.
  • Master’s Degree as a Physical Therapist from an accredited school for Physical Therapy
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required
  • Must have a favorable driving record.
  • Must have a favorable Criminal Background Check.
  • Must have a favorable DCYF Background Check
  • Must have a favorable fingerprinting clearance
  • Must have reliable transportation.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Ability to collect and analyze data
  • Ability to clinically supervise and train Behavior Technicians and PASS Workers
