Qualifications

PHYSICAL THERAPIST (PT PRN) PER DIEM

This position is remote, but will require a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a reliable personal automobile for local travel to provide care to clients in the Frisco and Plano, Texas areas.

Job Summary: Qualicare is looking for a highly skilled and compassionate Physical Therapist to join our team! As a Physical Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care, promoting physical function, and enhancing overall health and well-being.

We offer not only geriatric care, but we also offer Hospice, Palliative, discharge to home, Alzheimer’s and Dementia care, and concierge medical care.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide direct patient care to a diverse range of patients.
  2. Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to identify physical impairments and develop personalized treatment plans.
  3. Utilize a range of evidence-based techniques, including trigger point therapy, to address patient needs.
  4. Implement and monitor patient treatment plans, adjusting as necessary.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  6. Stay current with the latest developments in physical therapy, including orthopedics, hospital medicine, and anatomy knowledge.
  7. Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records.
  8. Educate patients on proper exercise techniques and provide guidance on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
  9. Provide emotional support and educate patients and their families on disease processes and treatment options.
  10. Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to patient care.
  11. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of patient care.

Skills:

  1. Experience caring for seniors.
  2. Knowledge of geriatric and neonatal care.
  3. Strong wound care knowledge.
  4. Ability to administer medications and perform catheter care.
  5. Familiarity with medical records and vital signs.
  6. Experience with gastric lavage and other medical procedures.
  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  9. Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree.
  2. Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the State of Texas.
  3. Strong knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
  4. Minimum one year experience in a home healthcare setting.
  5. One-year experience in geriatric care, preferred.
  6. Experience working in a hospital or clinic setting.
  7. Ability to provide patient care in a variety of settings, including home community care.
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  9. Proficiency in trigger point therapy and other physical therapy modalities.
  10. A passion for delivering high-quality patient care and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
