Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Rehab Therapist specializing in Physical Therapy for Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin, TX. The role focuses on evaluating mobility, designing patient-centered care plans, and delivering targeted therapy to promote recovery and safe discharge.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff to align on goals and ensure smooth transitions. A Bachelor’s is required, with Master’s preferred; licensure as an RPT is needed along with BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Master's degree or Doctorate preferred.
• Licensed Rehab Therapist (RPT) before hire date.
• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire date.

• Evaluate patient mobility upon admission to design personalized care plans that encourage early movement and steady recovery.
• Deliver targeted therapeutic care to help patients rebuild strength, regain independence and prepare for safe discharge.
• Partner with physicians, nurses and care teams to align on goals and ensure smooth care transitions.
• Guide therapy assistants, students and support staff to uphold high safety standards and deliver quality care.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Rehab Therapist specializing in Physical Therapy (RPT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Preferred Credential(s):
• Drivers License.

Education

• Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree OR Doctorate preferred.
