Reports To: Rehabilitation Clinical and Administrative Supervisors

Supervises: Rehab Aides

Hours: Per Diem Weekdays

DUTIES

Essential Responsibilities

• Deliver appropriate physical therapy interventions under the guidance of a Physical Therapist.
• Assist in updating goals and treatment strategies based on evaluations and patient needs.
• Maintain professional conduct and promote effective interpersonal and interdisciplinary relationships.
• Instruct healthcare professionals and family members on strategies and procedures to maximize patient function and safety.
• Complete assignments and documentation efficiently and accurately with minimal assistance.
• Maintain flexibility in scheduling to meet departmental needs.
• Record daily billable treatment times according to department procedures.
• Participate in departmental and facility in-services.
• Complete Core Competencies successfully.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university.
• 1 year experience in a long-term or acute care setting.
• State of CT Physical Therapist Assistant license; valid driver's license.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

The Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for providing appropriate treatment based on the patient's function level, documenting in accordance with APTA and Mozaic policies, participating in program development, continuing education, staff meetings, and quality improvement programs. Must work well with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and sometimes hostile residents. This description reflects major responsibilities but not minor duties or other responsibilities as assigned.

Salary: $32.00 - $33.55 per hour
