Job summary

Fremont Healthcare Center is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our compassionate team in Fremont, CA. The PTA will administer treatments, perform tests, and participate in discharge planning under PT supervision. Sign-on bonus available and full/part-time opportunities.

Applicants must have an associate degree in a PTA program and a current California PTA license. One year of clinical experience is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients with neuromuscular and musculoskeletal issues.
• Performs tests and measurements for strength, ROM, and respiratory/circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment per care plan and maintains patient confidentiality.
• Participates in home assessments or discharge planning as needed with PT/OT.
• Completes forms and documents per company policy and regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Duties and Responsibilities within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate with home assessments, simulated or actual as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment along with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the state of California.
