Job summary

Sunny Days of California, Inc. is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to join our home-based Early Intervention team serving infants and toddlers.

You will conduct developmental PT sessions in clients\' homes, collaborate with families and IFSP teams, and help children meet developmental goals while maintaining HIPAA compliance and flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• California Physical Therapy (DPT) license is required.
• Pediatric experience in Early Intervention is preferred.
• Home-based therapy delivery experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments and provide PT services in the home.
• Follow IFSP and collaborate with families to set goals.
• Apply parent coaching to build caregiver confidence and skills.
• Deliver services in the child’s natural environment (home, daycare, community).
• Prepare progress reports and maintain confidentiality per HIPAA.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments, provide physical therapy services utilizing the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon)
• Follow each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and work with the family to develop strategies to help each child reach their specific developmental goals
• Utilize the family-centered parent coaching approach to build caregivers’ confidence and skills and to ensure that progress is generalized
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment, in families’ homes, daycare centers and/or other community settings.
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (typically bi-annual)
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations)

Requirements

• California Physical Therapy (DPT) license
• Pediatric experience required (Early Intervention experience preferred)
• Home-based service delivery experience preferred
• Strong clinical & interpersonal skills
• Excellent written & oral communication skills
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus!
