Job summary

Sunny Days Early Childhood Developmental Services Inc. is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to join our team providing home-based Early Intervention services for infants and toddlers in California.

You will assess development, implement the Parent Coaching Model, and work with families to reach individualized goals in their homes and communities. The role requires a California DPT license and pediatric experience; Spanish bilingual skills are advantageous.

Qualifications

• California Physical Therapy (DPT) license is required.
• Pediatric experience preferred for Early Intervention.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments and provide PT services using family-centered coaching.
• Follow IFSP goals and develop strategies with families to meet developmental milestones.
• Use family-centered coaching to build caregiver confidence and ensure progress generalization.
• Deliver services in the child’s natural environment—home, daycare, or community settings.
• Prepare re-assessments and progress reports bi-annually.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and applicable regulations.

Sunny Days of California, Inc. specializes in the area of early intervention, serving children with developmental needs from birth to three years of age. Sunny Days is a nationwide agency and has programs throughout the state of California. Our programs are multidisciplinary, providing occupational, physical, and speech therapy, as well as child development services.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct developmental assessments, provide physical therapy services utilizing the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon)
• Follow each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and work with the family to develop strategies to help each child reach their specific developmental goals
• Utilize the family-centered parent coaching approach to build caregivers’ confidence and skills and to ensure that progress is generalized
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment, in families’ homes, daycare centers and/or other community settings.
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (typically bi-annual)
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations)

Requirements:

• California Physical Therapy (DPT) license
• Pediatric experience required (Early Intervention experience preferred)
• Strong clinical & interpersonal skills
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus!
