Job summary

Sunny Days Early Childhood Developmental Services Inc. is seeking licensed Physical Therapists to join our California EI team. Work with infants, toddlers and their families in home- and community-based settings, using the Parent Coaching Model to support developmental goals.

We offer competitive hourly rates ($65–$75), sign-on bonus, mileage reimbursement, flexible schedules and locations, plus benefits including medical, dental, vision, sick time and a 401(k). Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• California Physical Therapy license required.
• Pediatric experience with Early Intervention preferred.
• Strong clinical and interpersonal skills required.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments and provide physical therapy services using the Parent Coaching Model.
• Follow each child’s IFSP and collaborate with families to set development goals.
• Utilize family-centered coaching to build caregiver confidence and generalize progress.
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment, homes, daycares, and community settings.
• Prepare reassessments and progress reports bi-annually; maintain confidentiality as required.

Sunny Days of California, Inc. specializes in the area of early intervention, serving children with developmental needs from birth to three years of age. Sunny Days is a nationwide agency and has programs throughout the state of California. Our programs are multidisciplinary, providing occupational, physical, and speech therapy, as well as child development services.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct developmental assessments, provide physical therapy services utilizing the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon)
• Follow each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and work with the family to develop strategies to help each child reach their specific developmental goals
• Utilize the family-centered parent coaching approach to build caregivers’ confidence and skills and to ensure that progress is generalized
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment, in families’ homes, daycare centers and/or other community settings.
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (typically bi-annual)
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations)

Requirements:

• California Physical Therapy (DPT) license
• Pediatric experience required (Early Intervention experience preferred)
• Strong clinical & interpersonal skills
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus!
