Job summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking a Training Specialist, Intermediate to organize and conduct training and educational programs across management development, on-the-job training, and employee orientation. The role maintains training records, evaluates program effectiveness, and ensures consistency with laboratory policies and CLSI guidelines.

Responsibilities include supporting staff competencies, developing materials, and coordinating with supervisors to sustain high-quality phlebotomy training

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (stated in position requirements).
• Working experience in area of training.
• 2-5 years of professional experience.
• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, hand pipetting for long periods, ability to lift 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality phlebotomy training for adult, pediatric, capillary and alternate venous access devices.
• Manage and update phlebotomy procedures to align with inpatient/outpatient procedures and CLSI guidelines.
• Develop continuing education programs for Satellite Support personnel with quarterly topics.
• Monitor and verify competency plans and communicate with supervisors.
• Assist in developing or updating training materials and programs.
• Coordinate LEAN initiatives across Satellite Support to optimize processes.
• Attend professional development classes to enhance training and project skills.
