Job summary

Natera is seeking a Phlebotomist Test Coordinator to support our Carmel, IN clinic. You will schedule blood collection, prepare specimens for testing, and manage required paperwork to ensure compliance.

The role emphasizes independent work, multitasking, and strong problem solving to resolve issues promptly. The position requires phlebotomy experience (5–7 years) with oncology exposure, and state-credentialing as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years phlebotomy experience; oncology experience required.
• BS/BA degree preferred; High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Phlebotomy Certification as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• PHLEBOTOMY SERVICES: Perform venipunctures to obtain blood specimens with precision and care; Verify patient identity and test requisitions, cross-reference EMR records and resolve discrepancies; Maintain specimen integrity by following aseptic techniques and department protocols; Accurately track collected specimens and document initials, date, and collection time.
• PATIENT CARE COORDINATION: Oversee and coordinate patient care services to ensure efficient healthcare delivery; Manage administrative tasks including accessing patient records, scheduling appointments, and aligning blood draw times with clinic requirements; Collaborate with Field Sales and internal operations to provide patient support and continuity of care; Develop and maintain strong patient relationships to encourage ongoing testing.
• ADMINISTRATIVE AND OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT: Act as primary liaison for accounts and Sales, documenting interactions; Respond to inquiries and resolve issues; Build rapport to resolve missing information and maintain turnaround time; Communicate delays and handle sample redraws; Investigate escalated issues with clear root-cause explanations.
• QUALITY ASSURANCE AND COMPLIANCE: Ensure a safe, compliant work environment per CAP CLIA standards and regulations; Maintain high-quality results and log outcomes; Monitor and report process improvements; Ensure compliance with federal, state, local regulations and internal guidelines.
