Job description

Women’s Care, founded in 1998, is a leading women’s healthcare group in the United States, dedicated to providing the highest quality of care for women through their reproductive years and beyond. With 100+ locations and over 400 OB/GYNs and specialists across the country, Women’s Care provides comprehensive patient care in obstetrics, gynecology, gynecologic oncology, urogynecology, gynecologic pathology, breast surgery, genetic counseling, maternal fetal medicine, laboratory services, and fertility.

The Phlebotomist welcomes patients, collects all necessary patient demographics and insurance information, performs blood draws, prepares samples for delivery to the laboratory, may receive and prepare reports for deliveries, in addition to other clerical work, such as answering phones and assisting with client or patient inquiries.

  • Welcome patient and collect accurate patient demographics and insurance information.
  • Perform blood draws and specimen collections.
  • Ensure prompt disposition of specimens.
  • Deliver reports or supplies to physicians when necessary.
  • May need to contact patients regarding results, specimen requirements, ICD-10 codes, as well as other information.
  • Complete all requisition training with an understanding of all requirements.
  • Complete computer system training for necessary programs.
  • Follow all department procedures and policies.
  • Maintain an organized and professional work environment at designated work location (clean neat and clutter free).
  • Demonstrate and embodies the Women’s Care mission and core values.
  • Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess a current, valid Phlebotomy Certificate issued by the state in which you are working.
  • Ability to learn and perform varied clerical tasks, as well as computer functions.
  • Superior communication skills necessary to interact with the patients, clients, other department and supervisors.
  • Must be customer service oriented and possess strong interpersonal skills and maintain a positive and friendly attitude with all patients, clients and other departments.
  • Ability to solve issues, or if necessary, refer issues to the appropriate department in an expeditious manner.
  • Maintain excellent inter-personal and organizational skills.
  • Extreme attention to detail.
  • Must adhere to department dress code, grooming and personal hygiene requirements.Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.
