Job summary

Mercyhealth in Crystal Lake is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the Laboratory team. You will perform phlebotomy, prepare specimens, correctly label samples, and use HIS/LIS systems to release orders and register patients as needed.

Daily duties include patient interaction, data entry, and ensuring specimen integrity. You will work Monday-Friday 10am-6:30pm with rotations, following safety protocols, infection control practices, and quality control procedures.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Hospital Information System (HIS) and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred with phlebotomy training.
• Experience in healthcare is helpful for patient registration and insurance processes.

Responsibilities

• Release orders and register patients in HIS/LIS.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens with proper labeling.
• Maintain specimen integrity and proper safety protocols.
