Job summary

Mercyhealth in Wisconsin seeks a full-time Phlebotomy Technician to register patients, collect specimens, and support the lab workflow. You will use HIS/LIS to release orders, enter demographics and insurance data, and maintain specimen integrity with aseptic technique.

You will work day shift with variable hours, provide patient instruction, and mentor other phlebotomy staff while upholding safety standards and quality controls across the lab network.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of a phlebotomy course or phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Experience with HIS/LIS systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect payments as needed.
• Enter demographic and insurance data into HIS/LIS.
• Perform phlebotomy using aseptic technique and label specimens correctly.
• Adhere to safety and infection control procedures at all times.
• Provide patient instruction and respond to questions.
• Assist with laboratory workflow and sample transportation as required.
