Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician in Rockford, IL. You will register patients, collect payments, and input demographic and insurance information to support efficient sample processing.

You will perform phlebotomy across adult and pediatric populations, ensuring patient safety and specimen integrity. Knowledge of LIS/HIS systems and adherence to infection control practices are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of a phlebotomy course or previous phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Experience as a Paramedic, EMT, CNA or MA helpful.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect payments; enter demographic and insurance data.
• Perform phlebotomy on diverse patient populations with aseptic technique.
• Identify patients using two identifiers and ensure proper labeling of specimens.
