Shift/Time Zone: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
*Note: Floaters travel between multiple sites and are expected to be punctual at each location. A clean driving record is required. Floaters can submit mileage for expense reimbursement.
Job Description
- The Patient Services Representative III-Floater (PSR III) interacts directly with patients, drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing following established procedures. They foster an atmosphere of trust, explain procedures clearly, and perform blood draws skillfully, safely, and accurately. Demonstrating leadership behaviors, process excellence, and confidentiality is essential. Assignments may vary between doctor's offices, patient service centers, or other locations as needed.
- Under supervision, perform daily tasks accurately and timely, maintain a safe environment, and handle both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing. Verify patient demographics and signatures post-venipuncture, ensure proper labeling, and maintain records. Promote a positive image and demonstrate organizational commitment.

- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.

- Good judgment, reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable.
- Willingness to travel and work at multiple locations with short notice.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
- Superior customer focus, open communication, adaptability, and business knowledge.
- Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience
- At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Minimum two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service sectors preferred; keyboard/data entry skills beneficial.
Additional Job Details
- Reliable transportation to worksites is essential; public transportation is not considered reliable.
- Availability to work assigned schedules, punctuality, and full shift coverage are mandatory.
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may lead to termination.
