Job Description: Patient Services Representative II (PSR II)
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients, whether as part of their routine health visits or for insights into critical health decisions. The PSR II is responsible for drawing quality blood samples from patients and preparing these specimens for lab testing, adhering to established practices and procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Establishing trust and confidence with patients by explaining procedures and performing blood draws skillfully, safely, and accurately.
- Demonstrating leadership behaviors with a focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
- Performing specimen collection and processing duties under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Verifying patient demographic information and ensuring proper labeling of specimens.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Promoting a positive image and organizational commitment to patients, clients, and staff.
Requirements include:
- Ability to produce error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Independent work capability with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills across all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
- Adherence to policies including dress code, safety, and operational guidelines.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record, if applicable.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Superior customer service skills and effective communication abilities.
- Training location flexibility based on trainer availability.
Educational and experience requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred, especially in California, Nevada, and Washington.
- Minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Experience in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service sectors preferred.
- Keyboard and data entry skills.
Additional considerations:

- Rate of pay is based on direct experience, with overlapping roles not counted twice.
- Reliable transportation is essential; public transit or rideshare services are not considered reliable.
- Candidates must be punctual, available for scheduled shifts, and able to stay for the entire shift.
- Candidates within a 20-25 minute commute are preferred.
- Floaters will travel between multiple sites and must be punctual and maintain a clean driving record. Mileage reimbursement is available.
