Phlebotomist II

Position type: Full-time Contract

Location: IL_2LC_3003 Civic Circle Blvd, Marion IL 62959 (Onsite)

Duration: 3 months

Shift: M-F 8a-4:30p DAY/CENTRAL

Responsibilities

• Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures.
• Maintain direct contact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures.
• Draw blood specimens in a skilful, safe and accurate manner.
• Verify patient demographic info/initials including patient signature post-venipuncture to ensure tubes were labelled in their presence and that the name on the label is correct.
• Maintain required records and documentation.

Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Work Experience

• Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• 6 month to 1 years phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
• 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment highly preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.

Pay Range & Benefits

Pay Range: $21- $25.00 per hour.

Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
