Qualifications

• High school or equivalent required.
• Graduate from an accredited Phlebotomy Program.
• At least 1 year phlebotomy experience (acute care preferred).
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Excellent customer service orientation.
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CA DPH CPT) required.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Obtain blood samples by venipuncture or capillary method per clinician requests.
• Screen specimens for acceptability per guidelines.
• Deliver blood products and surgical specimens to appropriate lab sections.
• Process, distribute or package specimens (except Anatomic Pathology).
• Handle inquiries about lab results and specimen status.
• Interact professionally with patients, staff, and visitors.
• Follow hospital and departmental policies.
• Perform additional clinical and clerical duties as needed.
• Participate in Quality Improvement program.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
