Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate from an accredited phlebotomy program.
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician - CPT (CA DPH).
• 1 year of phlebotomy experience (acute care preferred).
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtains blood sample specimens by venipuncture or capillary methods.
• Receives and screens specimens per guidelines.
• Delivers blood products to Surgery and surgical specimens to appropriate sections.
• Processes, distributes or packages specimens (except Anatomic Pathology).
• Handles inquiries for lab results and specimen status.
• Communicates professionally with patients, coworkers and guests.
• Adheres to hospital and departmental policies and participates in Quality Improvement.

Education
