Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an accredited phlebotomy program.
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) per CA DPH requirements.
• Familiarity with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Obtains blood samples by venipuncture or capillary methods.
• Receives and screens specimens for acceptability per guidelines.
• Distributes or packages specimens as required.
• Answers inquiries about lab results and specimen status.
• Communicates with patients, co-workers, and other departments professionally.
• Adheres to hospital and department policies.
• Performs additional clinical and clerical duties as needed.
• Maintains records and supports quality improvement initiatives.
