Job summary

Independence Health System Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and specimen collection for inpatients and outpatients. You will ensure accurate data entry, specimen receipt, and timely processing of reports in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

The role requires adherence to safety protocols, proper patient identification, and collaboration with clinicians and laboratory staff to support quality patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Completion of Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant Training program or six months phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and lab specimen handling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy using venipuncture or capillary techniques.
• Accurately enter orders and collection data in LIS.
• Identify patients using two identifiers and follow safety protocols.
• Prepare and transport specimens to the laboratory in a timely manner.
• Assist with specimen processing and result inquiries.
